Inka is a black sable short coat who arrived at the rescue at the age of 7 months and has been in foster ever since. When she arrived she was an extremely nervous girl especially around humans. Inka has been living with 7 other German Shepherds and has integrated well with them all. When she meets a strange dog, although initially scared, she does relax around them and want to play. Inka will need a patient owner; someone who is prepared to accept that it will take time for her to settle in to her new home and trust her new family. She would also benefit from someone who has another dog for her to learn and gain confidence from. When Inka knows her surroundings and her dog family she is very playful but still concerned of human contact especially in the house. Inka is a dog that will need someone who is prepared to accept she loves dogs but needs to learn to trust people in her family home - gaining that trust is going to take time and work. There is not a bad bone in her body but Inka just needs the right, patient home and someone with the time to invest in her. She is crate trained, and house-trained, is not food aggressive and loves her walks and can now be let off the lead and does a good recall. She knows the basic "sit" command, walks well on the lead and is being introduced to strangers to get used to meeting them and will take treats nicely.
